Job Title: Senior Geotechnical Engineer

Igne is seeking to appoint a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join their successful and expanding Ground Investigation Division in Hamilton or Aberdeen, Glasgow. You will be responsible for managing large complex ground investigation projects and have the expertise to write first class interpretative reports. It will be expected that you bring a significant amount of experience and be chartered or actively working towards it.

Key Responsibilities

  • Site investigation contract supervision/management (of drilling rigs and personnel) and liaising with clients
  • Soil and rock logging to current guidelines
  • Trial pitting works
  • In-situ testing
  • Environmental groundwater/gas monitoring and sampling
  • Timely submission of site information, such as: drilling records, weekly timesheets, etc.
  • Health and safety responsibilities in connection with preparing site-specific working practice documentation, site inductions, and ensuring site operative welfare and safety

Requirements

  • Bachelor or Masters’ degree in a related subject (Geotechnical Engineering, Geology/Hydrogeology, and Environmental Science or related discipline)
  • Previous experience in contract management of ground investigation projects
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and reporting abilities
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Full driving license (travel is required)
