Location: London
Salary: GBP50,000 - GBP60,000
An established engineering consultancy is looking for a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join their London team. This role would suit an experienced geotechnical engineer with 5+ years experience who is working towards or close to achieving Chartered status.
The position offers the opportunity to work across a varied range of geotechnical projects, taking responsibility for technical delivery while developing your project management and client-facing experience.
The Role
- Deliver geotechnical projects from ground investigation through to design and construction.
- Plan and manage ground investigations, including reviewing factual information and producing interpretative reports.
- Undertake geotechnical analysis and design for a range of development and infrastructure projects.
- Prepare technical reports, specifications, and design documentation.
- Carry out geotechnical assessments including slope stability, retaining structures, foundations, and earthworks.
- Work closely with structural, civil, and environmental engineers on multidisciplinary projects.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and other project stakeholders.
- Assist with project management, including programmes, budgets, and resources.
- Provide technical support and mentoring to junior engineers.
- Contribute to business development and the development of client relationships.

About You
- 5+ years experience in geotechnical engineering.
- Working towards or close to achieving Chartered Engineer status.
- Strong experience in UK ground conditions and geotechnical design.
- Experience across ground investigation and interpretative reporting.
- Good knowledge of relevant UK standards and design guidance.
- Strong technical report writing and communication skills.
- Commercially aware with the ability to work directly with clients.
- Experience working within a multidisciplinary consultancy environment.
- Full UK driving licence desirable.
