Senior Geotechnical Engineer: Glasgow

An established engineering consultancy is looking to appoint a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join their Glasgow team. This is a varied role covering the delivery of geotechnical projects across Scotland, with the opportunity to take responsibility for technical delivery, client liaison, and project management.

The Role Will Involve

  • Managing and delivering geotechnical investigations and assessments from planning through to completion.
  • Producing and reviewing geotechnical interpretative and factual reports.
  • Geotechnical analysis and design, including foundations, retaining structures, slopes, and earthworks.
  • Reviewing ground investigation data and developing ground models.
  • Supporting and managing site investigations and working closely with contractors.
  • Providing technical input into larger multidisciplinary projects.
  • Liaising with clients, contractors, and other engineering disciplines.
  • Mentoring junior and graduate engineers and providing technical guidance.
  • Contributing to fee proposals, tenders, and project management.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • A degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Strong previous experience working within a geotechnical consultancy.
  • Experience in geotechnical design and interpretation of ground investigation data.
  • Good technical report writing skills.
  • Experience managing projects and liaising directly with clients.
  • Chartered status or working towards Chartership would be advantageous.
  • Full UK driving licence.
