Senior GIS and Spatial Intelligence Officer

Insights Team GIS Unit

Salary Grade 7 £37,563 - £40,444 per annum

Full Time, 37 hours per week

Are you an experienced GIS professional looking to lead and develop a modern corporate GIS function? Bassetlaw District Council is seeking a Senior GIS and Spatial Intelligence Officer to lead our ArcGIS infrastructure, spatial intelligence strategy and location-based insight capability across the organisation.

You will provide expert GIS support and technical leadership, develop spatial data solutions and deliver actionable intelligence that supports services including Planning, Housing, Economic Development and Corporate Policy. You'll play a key role in digital transformation, service improvement and Local Government Reorganisation initiatives.

What We're Looking For

  • Degree level qualification, professional qualification, or equivalent demonstrable experience in GIS, geospatial sciences, data science, geography, planning, information systems or a related discipline.
  • Significant experience managing enterprise GIS systems and spatial data environments.
  • Strong expertise in ESRI ArcGIS platforms, spatial analysis and web mapping.
  • Experience delivering spatial intelligence and evidence-based insights to support decision-making.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and technical leadership skills.
