- Lead and actively contribute to creative workshops and brainstorming sessions, bringing original ideas and inspiring creative solutions.
- Confidently present concepts to the team and internal stakeholders.
- Sign-off day-to-day projects, ensuring design directives and a consistently high standard is met with synergy and consistency across all touchpoints.
- Keep all stakeholders up to date on project developments, allowing for changes or amendments.
- Work closely with the Traffic Team to assign and manage the team's day-to-day output, working to each designer's strengths whilst challenging them to grow in their roles. You may need to brief freelance support when necessary.
- Handover and brief the artwork team to deliver print-ready files and digital assets.
- Collaborate with our internal UX/UI team and content developers to push the boundaries of design and functionality for the River Island website and digital channels.
- Maintain seasonal brand and design style guides, ensuring consistency across every customer touchpoint.
- Champion typography, photography and art direction, helping elevate the creative standard across every project.
- Inspire the wider team by sharing ideas, creative references and emerging trends from fashion, luxury, design and culture.
- You are fascinated by what makes brands stand out and talented enough to translate that understanding into memorable multi-channel creative.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
