A large established real estate company in London is seeking a Senior Group Accountant to join its Group Finance team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is a broad and high-impact role, ideal for a technically strong qualified accountant who can make an immediate contribution within a fast-paced Group Finance environment.
4 days in office, 1 day wfh
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare quarterly consolidated financial statements and management accounts, including supporting disclosures and narrative reporting.
- Produce analytical reviews and reporting for senior management, Board and Audit Committee audiences, identifying key movements, transactions and trends.
- Prepare shareholder and investor reporting and respond to related queries.
- Support the development and embedding of finance processes, controls and systems, with a particular focus on standardisation, automation, data and emerging AI-enabled technologies.
- Work closely with finance teams and wider stakeholders, including Treasury and Investments, to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
- Prepare technical accounting papers and develop robust conclusions on complex IFRS matters.
- Prepare and oversee key Group balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving complex issues.
- Account for and reconcile interest accruals, fee amortisation, derivative fair value movements and other adjustments relating to financial liabilities.
- Liaise with external auditors and support an efficient year-end and interim audit process.
- Contribute to wider finance transformation and improvement projects.

About You

You will be a ACA or ACCA-qualified accountant with at least 2 years' post-qualified experience and a strong background in Group financial reporting.
You should have:
- Proven experience preparing group financial statements and consolidations.
- Excellent Excel and data analysis skills, with the ability to work with large datasets and identify opportunities to improve reporting and efficiency.
