Senior Group Accountant | Derbyshire | Up to £60,000 + Benefits

We're recruiting on behalf of a successful international manufacturing and technology business seeking an experienced Group Accountant to join its finance team.

Reporting directly to the Group Finance Director, you'll play a pivotal role in delivering accurate group reporting, managing consolidations, and providing financial insight across a multi-site, international manufacturing operation.

This opportunity is ideally suited to a technically strong accountant with proven manufacturing experience who enjoys combining robust financial reporting with commercial support in a complex operational environment.

The Opportunity

This is a varied and highly visible position, giving you exposure to:

  • Group consolidations and international reporting
  • Multi-entity and multi-currency accounting
  • Manufacturing and project accounting
  • Inventory and cost accounting
  • Budgeting and forecasting
  • Cashflow and working capital management
  • Statutory reporting and audit support
  • Systems and process improvement
  • Commercial finance and business partnering

Working closely with senior leadership and operational teams, you'll help strengthen financial controls, enhance reporting capabilities, and provide meaningful insight to support business performance across the Group.

Key Responsibilities

Group Reporting & Consolidation

  • Prepare accurate and timely consolidated monthly management accounts.
  • Manage intercompany reconciliations and consolidation adjustments.
  • Support reporting across multiple international entities and currencies.
  • Assist with statutory reporting, year-end accounts, and external audits.
  • Deliver financial analysis and insight to support strategic decision-making.

Manufacturing Finance

  • Support financial reporting within a manufacturing and engineering environment.
  • Analyse manufacturing performance, margins, and operational costs.
  • Monitor inventory valuations, stock controls, and working capital performance.
  • Support cost accounting, project accounting, and profitability analysis.
  • Partner with operational stakeholders to drive efficiencies and improve financial performance.

Financial Planning & Control

  • Support month-end and year-end close activities.
  • Review balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
  • Support cashflow forecasting and working capital management.
  • Maintain strong financial controls and ensure compliance with accounting standards.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to improve reporting accuracy and efficiency.
  • Support the ongoing development of ERP and financial systems.
  • Drive process improvements and reporting automation initiatives.
  • Promote best practice and consistency across the finance function.

  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified, or qualified by experience.
  • Proven experience within a manufacturing, engineering, or industrial business.
  • Experience preparing group consolidations within a multi-entity environment.
  • Exposure to multi-site and multi-currency operations.
  • Strong financial reporting and management accounting expertise.
  • Experience of budgeting, forecasting, and cashflow management.
  • Advanced Excel and ERP systems skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Desirable

  • International group reporting experience.
  • Exposure to project accounting.
  • Experience supporting finance transformation or systems improvements.
  • Additional European language skills.
