The Role
We are seeking an experienced, adaptable, and highly organised individual to join our Finance team as a Senior Group Accountant for a 6–12 month fixed-term contract to strengthen NRC’s Group Finance team during a period of change. The existing team is well established with significant international experience. The role is broad and would suit a self-starter with excellent communication skills. This role provides great exposure to a wide range of duties within the finance function, including international financial reporting and tax frameworks, alongside building relationships with various internal and external stakeholders. We are based in London Waterloo Station and are currently operating on a hybrid working model, with our preference being 1 day per week in the office.

Key Accountabilities for the role
- Lead the Group month-end, quarter-end and year-end reporting processes, including consolidations and IFRS compliance.
- Prepare insightful management reporting and performance analysis for senior stakeholders, the Board, and key governance forums.
- Maintain a strong financial control environment, ensuring compliance with accounting policies and reporting standards.
- Oversee treasury activities including cash flow forecasting, banking relationships, liquidity management, and payment approvals.
- Monitor working capital performance and identify opportunities to improve cash generation.
- Support statutory accounts, audits, tax compliance, and regulatory reporting across multiple jurisdictions.
Essential experience for the role
- Full membership of relevant professional body ACA/ACCA/CIMA;
- Technically strong with at least three years’ post-qualification experience and exposure to international consolidations, IFRS, treasury, and overseas tax laws;
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to comfortably work with large datasets, perform detailed financial analysis, prepare reconciliations and develop management reports;
- Excellent communication and influencing skills with ability to interact credibly with stakeholders in the wider group, central government and at Board level;
- Enquiring mind keen to understand and identify opportunities for improvement; and
- Able to work to tight deadlines with a flexible, professional, and approachable attitude.
