Senior Group Accountant

Location: London - Hybrid, 3 days per week in the office

The Role

A newly created role within a well-established, multi-entity international organisation, sitting within Group Finance and reporting to the Senior Technical Reporting Manager. The role leads on technical accounting research and papers, supports the application of IFRS and UK GAAP across the Group, and contributes to statutory reporting, standards implementation and M&A-related accounting.

What They're Looking For

  • ACA qualified with strong post-qualified audit experience — this is the priority requirement
  • Background from a Big 4 or leading accounting firm, ideally in Technical Accounting, Accounting Advisory, Professional Practice, or Audit
  • Strong technical knowledge of IFRS, with a solid working understanding of UK GAAP (FRS 101/102)
  • Track record preparing technical accounting papers and position papers on judgemental or material matters
  • Comfortable operating across a multinational, multi-entity group structure

Key Responsibilities

  • Research and assess new accounting standards and regulatory developments, and their impact on the Group
  • Prepare technical accounting papers, policy assessments, and position papers, escalating complex matters appropriately
  • Support M&A activity, including acquisition accounting and purchase price allocations
  • Support preparation of the Group's annual consolidated financial statements, disclosures, and supporting schedules
  • Support subsidiary statutory reporting under IFRS, FRS 101, FRS 102, and the Companies Act 2006
  • Liaise with finance teams and external auditors to resolve technical and disclosure matters on a timely basis
