We are looking for an experienced Senior Group Accounting & Tax Specialist to join the Finance team at CLPT, part of Briggs of Burton, based in Burton-on-Trent.
This is a senior specialist role with broad international exposure, combining hands-on group accounting, IFRS reporting and corporate tax across an international engineering and project-based business.
You’ll play an important role in supporting the Group’s financial reporting, month-end and year-end close, corporate tax coordination, transfer pricing and international finance activities, working closely with colleagues across the UK and overseas entities.
Practical corporate tax experience is an essential requirement for this role. We are looking for someone who is comfortable working hands-on with corporate income tax matters and coordinating with external tax advisers, alongside their accounting and reporting responsibilities.
What you will be doing:
- Supporting IFRS group reporting and consolidation, including accounting, revenue recognition and tax matters.
- Managing and executing month-end and year-end close activities, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
- Supporting corporate income tax compliance and coordination across the Group.
- Working with external tax advisers, auditors, local finance teams and internal stakeholders.
- Supporting transfer pricing and cross-border tax matters.
- Reviewing intercompany transactions, reconciliations and supporting documentation from both an accounting and tax perspective.
- Supporting accounting and finance matters relating to international Permanent Establishments (PEs).
- Reviewing material project accruals, provisions, manual journals and foreign currency valuations.
- Supporting intercompany loan accounting, interest calculations and reconciliations.
- Reviewing material accounting matters to ensure completeness, accuracy and appropriate financial reporting.
- Supporting the development and implementation of AI-supported finance tools and digital solutions where relevant to accounting, reporting and data quality.

What we're looking for:
This role would suit an experienced finance professional who combines strong technical accounting capability with genuine, practical corporate tax experience.
You'll ideally have:
- Around 10 years' experience in accounting and corporate income tax, preferably within an international group environment.
- Strong practical experience of corporate tax matters and working with external tax advisers — this is essential.
- Strong working knowledge of IFRS and local GAAP reconciliations.
- Experience with transfer pricing, intercompany transactions and international finance structures.
- Practical experience of SAP FI/CO.
- Experience working within an Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC), engineering or other complex project-based environment.
- An understanding of long-term contract accounting and project-driven financial flows.
- Experience working within an international group, audit/advisory environment, regional finance function or group reporting/shared services environment.
- A degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
- Excellent English communication skills. Chinese language skills would be an advantage but are not essential.
- An ACCA, CPA or equivalent professional accounting qualification would be advantageous.
- Experience working at the interface between accounting and corporate income tax, together with exposure to branches, Permanent Establishments or other international tax/accounting structures, would also be valuable.
