About the Role
The Group UK Tax team provides full annual cycle tax compliance and reporting for:
- Group’s UK head office
- Treasury operations
- Shared services entities
Key responsibilities include:
Compliance & Reporting:
- Handle UK corporation tax compliance
- Statutory tax accounting
- Disclosures for legal entities
- Conclude Group reporting submissions
- Oversee broader UK compliance obligations including:
- Group relief processes
- Quarterly instalment payments
- Controlled Foreign Company (CFC) filings
- Corporate Interest Restriction (CIR) returns
- Withholding taxes
Intersection of Tax, Finance, and Technology
- Work within a multinational environment
- Engage in complex cross-functional projects
Responsibilities
Core Duties:

Lead delivery of Group UK tax cycles
- Account tax disclosures
- Internal reporting submissions
- Corporation tax returns
- Group relief processes
- Quarterly instalment payments

Provide technical oversight & leadership
- For stakeholders including Group Tax, Group Finance, overseas shared services, external advisers, auditors, and HMRC
- Manage UK tax compliance-related risks & projections

Ensure cross-team alignment for:
- Accuracy
- Delivery timelines
- Control standards across tied UK entities
Detailed Outputs:
- Technical research and advisory work on UK and international taxation
- Initiatives to identify tax risks and resolve complex matters
- Lead UK Direct Tax team by:
- Setting priorities
- Strengthening team capabilities for auditing controls
- Developing professional skills
Strategic Improvements:
- Embed SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley) requirements in reporting & controls framework
- Identify areas for tax automation & process upgrade

Requirements
Professional Background:
- Degree level or equivalent education
- Certifications welcome: ACA, ACCA, CTA or equivalent
- Strong hands-on experience in UK tax compliance (10+ years post-qualification recommended)
Technical Skills:
- Experience with:
- UK corporation tax compliance
- Tax accounting systems (preferably: AlphaTax CT / Longview)
- Exceptional technical judgement on high-risk projects
Expertise:
- UK corporation tax returns, computations, group relief claims
- Negotiations with HMRC
- Company revenue allocation
- Complex finance reporting

- Aptitude for strategic prioritisation
