The Role
Are you an experienced and compassionate healthcare support professional looking to take the next step in your career? NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is seeking a Senior Health Care Support Worker to join our Older People's Services and Stroke teams, where you will play an essential role in delivering high quality, person-centred care. Working alongside Registered Nurses and the wider multidisciplinary team, you will support patients through their healthcare journey while contributing to a safe, effective and caring environment. This is a fantastic opportunity to further develop your clinical skills and experience within Scotland's largest NHS organisation. Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:
- Part-time, Permanent
- You will be based at The Vale of Leven Hospital
- Working Pattern: TBC
Please note that the salary is Pro Rata for part-time hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high quality care and support to patients with compassion, dignity and respect
- Undertake a range of delegated patient care activities under the direction of a Registered Nurse
- Perform clinical tasks including observations, blood pressure monitoring, urinalysis and other approved procedures
- Recognise and report changes in patients' physical or psychological condition to the Registered Nurse
- Communicate effectively with patients, relatives, carers and members of the multidisciplinary team
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with policies and procedures
- Support the safe and efficient running of the clinical environment through housekeeping, equipment checks and stock control

Knowledge, Training, Qualifications and/or Experience Required to do the Job:
- SVQ Level 3 qualification or equivalent knowledge gained through experience, training and development
- Demonstrable experience of providing patient care within a healthcare setting
- Effective written and verbal communication skills with good literacy, numeracy and IT skills
- Ability to work independently within agreed parameters and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Knowledge of infection prevention, health and safety and safe working practices
- Ability to undertake and maintain a range of clinical competencies relevant to the role
- Caring, compassionate and professional approach with a commitment to delivering person-centred care
