Please note: at this stage, the role is open only to colleagues currently employed by the Kent and Medway Integrated Care Board (ICB) and Southeast Integrated Care Boards; and current at-risk employees within Kent and Medway NHS Trusts.
We are looking for caring, enthusiastic and dedicated Senior Healthcare Workers to join our Community Hospitals Team at Hawkhurst Hospital.
As a core member of the team, you will provide high-quality clinical and non-clinical care to patients within our inpatient rehabilitation setting. You will support patients with their daily activities, promote independence, and encourage self-care to help them achieve their rehabilitation goals and prepare for a safe discharge home.
Working closely with nurses, therapists and the wider multidisciplinary team, you will assist in delivering person-centred care, undertake delegated clinical tasks, and ensure patients are treated with dignity, compassion and respect. You will also support junior colleagues and contribute to maintaining high standards of care.
- Recording your actions accurately in patient notes
- Basic observations
- Personal care - washing and dressing
- Catheter care - changing catheter bags and changing catheters
- Mouth care
- Stoma care
- Supporting fluid and nutrition
- Calibration of blood glucose machines and taking blood glucose levels
- MRSA swabs
- Risk assessments such as falls assessment, nutrition and hydration, skin integrity
- Sub cut injections (e.g. insulin injection)
- Venepuncture
- ECG
- Simple wound management

Kent Community Health NHS Foundation Trust is due to integrate with Medway Community Healthcare on 1 October 2026.
