About the Role

FJA are working with a national leader in the Water industry, who are looking to recruit a Senior Health and Safety Advisor. The Senior H&S Advisor will play an integral part of the SHEQ team based in the Manchester / Northwest region. The role is a permanent full-time position.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Health and Safety Advisor, your role will be pivotal in ensuring that robust health and safety standards are consistently implemented across their high-profile construction sites which cover complex civil engineering, mechanical, electrical and commissioning works.

You will report directly to the SHEQ Framework Manager, the responsibilities will include:

  • Understanding our approach to managing SHEQ risk and delivering best in class performance at a Senior Level.
  • Maintaining a dynamic and driven approach to supporting SHEQ across the company.
  • Facilitating the development and implementation of policies, procedures, management systems and risk controls, which will help reduce risk and support a positive SHEQ culture.
  • Organising audits and supporting the delivery and execution of SHEQ assurance audits.
  • Conducting accident/incident investigations and/or supporting investigations conducted by the Head of SHEQ.
  • Integrating within the wider project teams to understand day to day challenges.
  • Working with our clients to deliver collaborative approaches to SHEQ.
  • Exposure to the project management lifecycle of project delivery.
  • Highlighting opportunity for sustainable solutions.
  • Trending and analysis of key performance data.
  • Maintenance of our externally certified management systems.

Requirements

Required Experience For The Senior Health And Safety Advisor

  • Strong knowledge of UK health & safety legislation, CDM Regulations, and HSE guidance.
  • Experience with SHEQ management systems (e.g. ISO/OHSAS 45001) and audit processes.
  • Data analysis, trend identification, and reporting.
  • Full UK driving license- ability to travel to all sites in region.
  • Experience in the Construction, Water or Civils industry.
  • Knowledge of HSE Directives, H&S Law and regulations for health and safety.
  • Knowledge and experience of OHSAS 45001 (or similar management systems).
  • Formal qualification in Occupational Safety and Health, e.g. NEBOSH diploma.
  • Construction-related health and safety qualification such as NEBOSH Construction.
  • CSCS Card – desirable.
