Pay Rate: £20.29 per hour Location: Coventry Hours: 37 hours per week Contract: Temporary – 3 Months+ Working Pattern: Hybrid Start: ASAP
We are recruiting for an experienced Senior Health & Safety Advisor to provide professional health and safety support across a large and diverse organisation in Coventry.
This is a hybrid position, typically involving 1–2 days working on-site plus one office day per week for a team meeting. Applicants must also be able to travel efficiently to different sites across Coventry as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide professional health and safety advice and guidance to managers and employees
- Support managers with risk assessments, audits and workplace inspections
- Undertake and support accident and incident investigations
- Review and develop health and safety policies, procedures and management systems
- Deliver health and safety training and guidance
- Monitor compliance with relevant health and safety legislation
- Support contractor management and CDM compliance
- Produce reports and analyse accident and incident trends
- Recommend appropriate preventative and corrective actions
- Work with senior managers, Trade Unions, external agencies and enforcement bodies
- Support wider corporate health and safety initiatives

Requirements
- NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety is essential.
- Applicants should also have:
- IOSH membership – CMIOSH, GradIOSH or working towards Chartered status
- Strong experience of health and safety auditing and inspections
- Experience undertaking investigations and risk assessments
- Excellent knowledge of UK health and safety legislation
- Experience developing and implementing H&S policies and procedures
- Experience delivering health and safety training and professional guidance
- Knowledge of CDM Regulations and contractor management
- Experience of compliance monitoring within a complex organisation
- Ability to travel efficiently to sites throughout Coventry as required
