Do you hold a recognised Health & Safety qualification and/or professional membership such as NEBOSH, IOSH, IEMA or equivalent? Have you worked in a senior Health & Safety advisory role within major construction, civil engineering, infrastructure or tunnelling projects?

The Opportunity

Due to ongoing project demands, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Health & Safety Advisor to join a high-profile infrastructure programme. This role offers the chance to work closely with operational leadership teams, supporting the safe delivery of complex construction activities while championing best practice across health, safety and wellbeing.

You'll be a visible and influential presence across site operations, leading on audits, investigations, improvement initiatives and workforce engagement programmes. In return, you'll be joining a collaborative environment where safety leadership is highly valued, with opportunities to influence strategic decisions and support the continued development of safety performance across the project.

Your duties and responsibilities will be:

  • Lead and promote best practice in health, safety and sustainability.
  • Support Directors, Managers and Supervisors in fulfilling their health and safety responsibilities.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with client and stakeholder teams.
  • Lead health and safety improvement initiatives, campaigns and development programmes.
  • Ensure effective management controls are in place to maintain legal and procedural compliance.
  • Work closely with site leadership teams to drive safe working practices.
  • Mentor and support junior Health & Safety professionals where required.
  • Conduct site inspections, audits and workplace surveillance activities.
  • Monitor actions arising from inspections and ensure completion.
  • Lead and support accident and incident investigations, identifying root causes and preventative actions.
  • Analyse health and safety data, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Deliver lessons learned sessions and promote continuous improvement.
  • Support the development and delivery of inductions and workforce engagement programmes.
  • Review and contribute to health and safety plans, procedures and method statements.
  • Maintain accurate compliance and audit records.
  • Produce reports, presentations and management information.
  • Monitor performance against project and business KPIs.
  • Exercise stop-work authority where health and safety standards are compromised.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
