About The Role

Help shape safer, healthier and more sustainable construction.

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Health, Safety & Wellbeing Advisor to provide expert guidance, visible leadership and practical support across our projects. You’ll work closely with operational teams, clients, designers and supply chain partners to strengthen our positive safety culture and help deliver our Zero Harm ambitions.

This role is covering projects in our Southern portfolio such as Piccadilly Line Upgrade, Cockfosters and Stratford.

What you'll be doing

  • Lead the local delivery of our Zero Harm strategy and action plan through visible, credible leadership.
  • Provide project teams with trusted technical advice and practical HS&E support.
  • Build collaborative relationships with internal teams, clients, regulators, industry forums and supply chain partners.
  • Agree and regularly review risk-based service levels with project teams to maintain compliance and assurance.
  • Carry out site inspections, document findings and identify both risks and opportunities for improvement.
  • Support investigations into accidents, incidents and near misses in line with company standards.
  • Partner with design and engineering teams to eliminate or reduce HS&E risk through design.
  • Contribute high-quality HS&E responses to bids, proposals and pre-qualification questionnaires.
  • Challenge established ways of working, share successes and mentor colleagues across the HS&E community.

Who we're looking for

  • A relevant Health & Safety Diploma, NVQ, degree or equivalent Level 6 qualification. We may also consider applicants with a certificate who are working towards a Level 6 qualification and bring relevant site experience.
  • Chartered Membership of IOSH, or active progress towards it.
  • A strong understanding of the UK health and safety regulatory framework.
  • The confidence to influence, engage and communicate effectively at every level.
  • Experience of project planning, project management and working to budgets.
  • Competence in incident investigation and the ability to produce clear, formal HS&E reports.
  • Broad experience of complex construction and civil engineering projects, or a comparable sector.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
