Theatre Health Care Assistant

Band 2/3
£25,272 - £27,476 per annum, pro rata if part time

Hours:
37.5 hours per week, all MKUH roles will be considered for flexible working

Band 3 salary will be dependent on having a NHS Care certificate. If you do not have this, you will start at Band 2 and be supported within the first 6 months to achieve it, once achieved you will move to Band 3

Are you a caring, motivated individual looking for a rewarding role in a dynamic and fast-paced environment? We are seeking enthusiastic Theatre Health Care Assistants to become a vital part of our dedicated and friendly team at Milton Keynes University Hospital.

MKUH is a forward-thinking, medium-sized hospital with approximately 500 beds. Our busy and diverse Operating Theatre department features 12 theatres, supporting both elective and emergency procedures. As a Level 2 trauma centre, we provide high-quality care across a wide range of surgical specialities.

The theatres at MKUH are split into 2 suites with a total of 12 operating theatres, and a procedure room suite which undertake both elective and emergency work. The role of the HCA is to assist the theatre team in the delivery of safe and effective care to the patient. The post holder will be expected to work competently and flexibly across all surgical specialities as part of the multidisciplinary team, including a variety of shifts including nights, twilights and on-call shifts

We are also proud to offer a growing portfolio of specialist services. In January 2025 we opened our state-of-the-art Radiotherapy Centre, bringing advanced cancer treatment closer to home. Our services also include neonatology, specialist surgical care, and a wide range of diagnostics, supported by the new Community Diagnostic Centre at Whitehouse Health Centre. We have just opened the Oak Wards - a new ward block featuring two 24-bed wards.

Further investment is underway, including the recently approved Women and Children’s Centre, set to open by 2030.
