Job Vacancy: Senior Healthcare Assistant Nights
Location: Lulworth House Residential Care Home in Maidstone, Kent
Contracted hours: 33 hours (to include – every other weekend free, as applicable), Work flexibility in accordance with your availability and the service requirements
(Hourly) rate of pay: From £13.50

About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and confident Night Senior who can lead by example and provide a high standard of care throughout the night.
The successful candidate will:
- Have previous experience in a senior care role and be confident leading a team by example.
- Have excellent communication skills and be able to communicate effectively with residents, colleagues, and external professionals.
- Have a strong understanding of safe and effective medication management and be confident taking responsibility for medication administration and related procedures.
- Be confident working independently and able to use their own initiative, particularly in the absence of a Deputy Manager or Registered Manager during the night shift.
- Be able to make appropriate decisions, respond calmly to situations that arise, and escalate concerns when required.
- Provide clear, accurate, and comprehensive handovers to ensure continuity of care between shifts.
- Maintain accurate records and reporting, ensuring any incidents, concerns, or changes in residents' needs are appropriately documented and communicated.
- Be committed to delivering high-quality, person-centred care and supporting the wider night team to maintain a safe and positive environment for residents.

Responsibilities
- Providing leadership to the care staff within the service.
- Providing care in accordance with current best practices, policy and procedures, agreed standards, legislative requirements, and relevant regulations, under the direction of the manager.
- Carrying out and supervising the care services within the organisation in accordance with agreed standards.
- Maintaining skills at a current level, and undertake such training and development as may, from time-to-time, be required to maintain practices as up to date.
- Supervising staff and ensuring that all staff contribute to the efficient running of the service.
- Supporting effective communication with the residents’ families, friends, advocates, or representative around all aspects of care and wellbeing.
