Melber Flinn is supporting an established healthcare consultancy with the appointment of a senior consultant to lead complex transformation programmes across the NHS.

This is a delivery-focused role for someone experienced in leading significant change within acute healthcare, working with senior stakeholders and managing consulting teams through complex programmes.

The role

You will:

  • Lead major transformation, service redesign and improvement programmes.
  • Take responsibility for delivery across complex client assignments.
  • Manage and support multidisciplinary consulting teams.
  • Build trusted relationships with senior NHS stakeholders.
  • Structure programmes, develop clear outputs and maintain delivery momentum.
  • Work across operational, clinical and productivity-focused change.

About you

We are open to candidates from either healthcare consultancy or senior NHS roles. You may already be delivering major acute healthcare programmes within consultancy, or you may have an NHS background with substantial experience leading transformation, service redesign or improvement work.

You will need:

  • Strong programme leadership experience.
  • A good understanding of acute healthcare.
  • Experience working with senior and executive stakeholders.
  • The ability to structure and lead complex programmes.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and influencing skills.
  • A practical, delivery-focused approach.
  • The ability to lead teams and build credibility quickly.

Previous consultancy experience is desirable but not essential where there is strong evidence of comparable client-facing and programme leadership capability.

Working pattern

The role is UK-wide and hybrid, with regular travel to client sites required. Flexibility around location is therefore essential.

Package

A competitive senior-level package is available, including salary from £90,000, bonus opportunity, pension, annual leave, flexible working and continued professional development.

This may also suit experienced NHS interims looking for the variety of project-based work with greater long-term security and career development.
