We are seeking experienced CAT and Komatsu Heavy Equipment Mechanics with strong diagnostic and fault-finding capabilities to join a growing maintenance team supporting a large fleet of earthmoving and mining equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair faults on heavy earthmoving equipment.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting of:
    • Diesel engines
    • Hydraulic systems
    • Transmissions and drivetrains
    • Electrical and electronic control systems
  • Interpret OEM service manuals, schematics and diagnostic information.
  • Carry out inspections, component replacements and commissioning activities.
  • Complete maintenance documentation and reports.
  • Work safely in accordance with company and industry standards.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience working on CAT and/or Komatsu equipment.
  • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
  • Ability to identify root causes rather than simply replacing parts.
  • Competent in the use of OEM diagnostic tools and software.
  • Experience with:
    • Excavators
    • Dozers
    • Motor Graders
    • Wheel Loaders
    • Haul Trucks
    • Ancillary earthmoving equipment
  • Good understanding of hydraulic, mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a professional maintenance team.

  • Mining or large-scale earthmoving experience.
  • Trade qualification in Heavy Equipment Maintenance, Diesel Mechanics or equivalent.
  • Experience working in demanding production environments.
