Team - Provider Management

Working Pattern

Hybrid - 2 days per week in the Vitality Bournemouth, London or Stockport Office. Full time hours per week.

What This Role Is All About

We're looking for a Senior Hospital Relationship Manager to join our Hospital Services team. This is a strategically important role responsible for managing some of Vitality's most significant provider partnerships, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, sustainable healthcare services for our members while driving strong commercial outcomes. Operating with a high degree of autonomy, this role will influence provider strategy, shape innovative partnership models and work closely with senior stakeholders across the business to maximise quality, value and member experience.

Key Actions

  • Own and develop a portfolio of strategically critical hospital provider relationships with accountability for commercial performance, service delivery and contractual outcomes
  • Lead negotiations and commercial discussions with provider partners to secure sustainable agreements that balance member outcomes, quality standards and cost effectiveness
  • Drive provider performance improvements through robust relationship management, data-led insight and effective challenge where required
  • Influence provider utilisation strategies by analysing performance trends, identifying opportunities and recommending actions that support organisational objectives
  • Collaborate with Clinical, Claims, Consultant, MI and Primary Care teams to deliver integrated solutions that improve healthcare experiences and business performance
  • Support the design and implementation of innovative healthcare pathways, partnership models and operational improvements that deliver measurable member and commercial benefits
  • Ensure contractual compliance, governance standards and service expectations are maintained across provider relationships and commercial frameworks
  • Provide leadership, coaching and development support within the Hospital Services team, building capability and driving high performance
  • Lead complex projects and change initiatives, coordinating stakeholders across multiple functions to deliver strategic objectives successfully
  • Act as a trusted senior stakeholder partner, building credibility and influence at all levels internally and across the healthcare provider market

What Do You Need to Thrive?

  • Significant experience managing hospital, healthcare provider, consultant or private medical insurance relationships involving substantial commercial spend
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to balance quality, member outcomes and financial performance
  • Experience negotiating complex agreements and influencing senior stakeholders both internally and externally
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret performance data and translate findings into strategic actions
  • Proven track record of delivering successful change initiatives, projects or business improvement programmes
  • Experience working within complex operational environments and managing competing priorities effectively
  • Strong relationship management skills with the ability to build trust, challenge constructively and achieve mutually beneficial outcomes
  • Experience collaborating across multiple business functions to deliver shared objectives
  • Highly resilient, adaptable and comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment with significant autonomy
  • Private Medical Insurance, healthcare provider management or insurance sector experience would be advantageous
