Position Summary

  • Assists the Director of Services in the overall running of the Housekeeping department and deputizes for the Director of Services in her absence.

  • Inspects guest rooms, public areas, pool, etc. after being cleaned by Housekeeper to ensure quality standards.

  • Runs sold room reports, verifies room status, determines discrepant rooms, prioritizes room cleaning, and updates status of departing guest rooms.

  • Assists Housekeeping management in managing daily activities.

  • Acts as a liaison to coordinate the efforts of Housekeeping, Engineering, Front Office, and Laundry.

  • Documents and resolves issues with discrepant rooms with the Front Desk.

  • Prepares, distributes, and communicates changes in room assignments.

  • Communicates issues to next shift.

  • Completes required paperwork.

  • Assists management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, and motivating and coaching employees.

  • Follows all company and safety and security policies and procedures; reports any maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries; completes safety training and certifications.

  • Ensures uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional; maintains confidentiality of proprietary information; protects company assets.

  • Welcomes and acknowledges all guests according to company standards; anticipates and addresses guests’ service needs; assists individuals with disabilities; thanks guests with genuine appreciation.

  • Speaks with others using clear and professional language.

  • Develops and maintains positive working relationships with others; listens and responds appropriately to the concerns of other employees.

  • Ensures adherence to quality expectations and standards.

  • Moves, lifts, carries, and places objects weighing less than or equal to 55 pounds without assistance and in excess of 55 pounds with assistance.

  • Ability to push and pull a loaded housekeeping cart and other work-related machinery over sloping and uneven surfaces.

  • Reaches overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.

  • Stands, sits, kneels, or walks for an extended period across an entire work shift.

  • Grasps, turns, and manipulates objects of varying size and weight, requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.

  • Enters and locates work-related information using computers and/or point of sale systems.

  • Reads and visually verifies information in a variety of formats (e.g., small print).

  • Performs other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.

Preferred Qualification

  • Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
  • Related Work Experience: At least 1 year of related work experience.
  • Supervisory Experience: At least 1 year of supervisory experience.
  • License or Certification: None
