We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Housing Strategy Officer to join us!

This is a full-time, permanent role with hybrid working, and a salary of £39,526 - £50,446 per annum. This is a key role within a small housing strategy team and plays a key role in the development of strategies, policies and operational projects for the wider Housing Service.

This is an excellent opportunity for a housing professional to join our team as a Senior Housing Strategy Officer.

The Role

The role will report to a Housing Strategy, Performance and Inclusion Manager. It will be part of a small team which has the primary responsibilities for key activities such as housing policy and strategy, contracting of externalised services such as rough sleeping services and temporary accommodation provision, registered provider liaison and new build development, liaison with central government on homelessness and rough sleeping targets, and the procurement of private rented sector accommodation for homelessness prevention measures. The work is project orientated and demanding.

Your Role Will Involve

  • Leading and delivering on specific projects.
  • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to develop work streams and deliver projects.
  • Achieving practical outcomes to improve the housing service, minimise costs and to meet central government requirements.

What We Are Looking For

A housing professional with experience and knowledge of at least one of the following areas: temporary accommodation procurement at a contract level, housing development, policy and strategy development, rough sleeping provision, experience of liaison with central government on projects such as the Local Authority Housing Fund and the contracting of services.

The successful candidate should be able to work with a minimum of supervision and be capable of representing RBWM and the housing service both verbally and in writing.

The successful candidate is likely to have experience with a local authority or registered provider.
