🌟 Senior HR Adviser x 2 | North Somerset Council | Weston-super-Mare

Are you an experienced HR professional looking for an opportunity to make a real difference?

At North Somerset Council, we're committed to creating a fairer, greener and more inclusive community. We're looking for two Senior HR Advisers to join our collaborative People Services team and play a key role in delivering high-quality HR support across the organisation.

📍 Location: Weston-super-Mare

💰 Salary: Career Graded Level 7 (£34,314 - £37,035) to Level 8 (£37,938 - £40,476) per annum

🕒 Hours: 37 hours per week

📅 Closing Date: 14 September 2026

🏡 Hybrid Working: Typically 2-3 days in the office with flexibility to work from home and the office.

About the Role

As a Senior HR Adviser, you will provide expert HR guidance to managers and senior leaders across a wide range of employee relations matters, helping to deliver positive outcomes for both employees and services.

  • Manage complex employee relations casework
  • Advise and coach managers on employment law, HR policies and best practice
  • Support organisational change, restructures and consultations
  • Analyse and present workforce data and insights
  • Ensure workforce establishment data is accurate and supports reporting
  • Mentor and support HR Advisers and HR Administrators
  • Contribute to HR projects and continuous service improvement initiatives

About You

We're looking for a confident HR professional who has:

  • Significant HR generalist experience, including employee relations casework
  • Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practice
  • Experience supporting organisational change and restructures
  • Excellent communication, coaching and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong analytical and data interpretation capabilities
  • A Level 5 HR qualification (or equivalent experience)

CIPD membership, or progress towards Chartered Membership, is desirable.
