Senior HR Advisor - Hull

£40,000 to £45,000 DOE & Quals. Hybrid working (2 days a week from home)

Our client is a successful commercial organisation with a strong reputation in its sector.

They are seeking an experienced Senior HR Advisor to join their HR/people team and play a key role in supporting managers through a period of growth, change and transformation at their Hull site.

This is an excellent opportunity for a HR professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced commercial environment.

Your New Role

Working as part of a larger multi-site HR Team, you will be the Senior HR contact for this site, working alongside a HR Advisor - reporting to a HRBP at another site.

Your role will involve providing high-quality generalist HR support across the employee population for this site and the wider team, acting as a trusted advisor to Managers on a broad range of people matters.

A significant focus of the role will be managing complex employee relations cases, so an interest and enjoyment in ER is required.

You will also support organisational change initiatives, talent management, organisational structure - partnering with leaders to drive positive people outcomes.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing a wide range of complex employee relations matters, including disciplinary, grievance, absence management and performance cases.
  • Coaching and supporting managers on best practice HR processes and employment legislation - including running workshops for Managers.
  • Supporting organisational change projects.
  • Assisting with the development and implementation of HR policies, procedures and people initiatives.
  • Analysing HR data and trends to support decision-making and identify areas for improvement.
  • Supporting talent, succession and workforce planning activities.
  • Building strong relationships with stakeholders across the business to influence and drive positive organisational outcomes.
  • Contributing to the delivery of the wider people strategy and key HR projects.
  • Providing support and guidance on employment law and HR best practice.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you will be an experienced HR professional with strong employee relations expertise and a proactive, commercial approach.

You will ideally have:

  • Proven experience in a Senior HR Advisor or equivalent HR generalist role.
  • Extensive employee relations experience, including managing complex and sensitive cases.
  • Experience supporting organisational change, restructures, consultations and transformation programmes.
  • Strong understanding of UK employment law and HR best practice.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills.
  • CIPD qualification or working towards qualification would be advantageous.

What you'll get in return:

The successful applicant will be offered a competitive salary - DOE and qualifications

  • 35 hour working week (9am to 5pm with some flexibility)
  • Hybrid working - 2 days a week from home (3 on-site)
  • 23 days annual leave plus bank holidays - rising to 25 after 3 years and 27 after 8.
