Senior HR Partner
I am sourcing an experienced Senior HR Partner for a 18 month FTC, reporting directly to the Senior HR Business Partner. The role is fully remote with 3-4 days travelling to different locations.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys being close to the operation, partnering with managers, navigating complex people issues and making things happen.
Senior HR Partner Key Responsibilities:
This is a genuinely hands-on, operational HR role where you'll be out and about supporting managers across multiple depots.
- Act as a trusted first point of contact for HR advice
- Take ownership of a varied ER caseload and partner with managers to resolve people issues fairly, consistently and commercially
- Operate in a heavily unionised environment, working collaboratively with Trade Union representatives and supporting consultation, negotiations and early resolution of issues
- Manage a broad ER caseload including disciplinary, grievance, attendance, performance and capability
- Coach managers through investigations, meetings, documentation and decision-making
- Build strong and credible relationships with Trade Union representatives
- Support consultation, local negotiations and industrial relations activity
- Advise on contracts, terms and conditions, policies and procedural changes
- Support restructures, TUPE, role changes and organisational change
- Take a proactive approach to absence management, including complex and long-term cases and Occupational Health referrals
- Use HR data, dashboards and case management information to identify trends and provide insight
- Support workforce planning, including absence, turnover and skills analysis
- Work alongside HR Admin and Resourcing teams across recruitment, onboarding, probation and contractual changes
- Support managers through HR training, ER guidance and people process best practice
- Ensure all HR activity is legally compliant, consistent and aligned with organisational policy

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
