Experienced HR Professional Wanted at GXO

Are you an experienced HR professional looking to take the lead in driving people initiatives across a large, fast-paced logistics operation? Do you enjoy partnering with senior leaders, developing management capability and shaping a positive workplace culture? Are you confident managing complex employee relations matters while influencing business performance through people strategies?

Here at GXO, we're recruiting for a Senior HR Advisor to join our Sherburn-in-Elmet operation. This is a full-time, permanent role, working Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 16:00, where you'll provide a comprehensive HR service while playing a fundamental role in supporting the delivery of the site People Plan, aligning culture, talent, structure and processes. Supporting a large and diverse workforce across a 24/7 operation, you'll work closely with site leadership teams to create a high performing, engaged and compliant working environment.

What You’ll Do on a Typical Day

  • Support and Drive Site Culture
    • Work closely with senior leaders and operational teams to enhance the employee experience across all stages of the colleague lifecycle
  • Lead Talent, Succession Planning, and Performance Management
    • Support development plans, appraisals and the annual performance cycle across the operation
  • Provide Expert HR Advice
    • Offer guidance on employee relations matters including disciplinary, grievance, TUPE, redundancy, performance, and absence cases, managing more complex matters when required
  • Support Managers
    • Through coaching, training, and development initiatives, helping to build capability and confidence in people management
  • Drive HR Projects and Continuous Improvement
    • Engage in HR projects, engagement initiatives, people analytics, and continuous improvement activities while deputising for the HR Manager when required

What You Need to Succeed at GXO

  • Previous Experience
    • In a Senior HR Advisor, HR Advisor, or HR Generalist role within a fast-paced operational, warehousing, logistics, or manufacturing environment
  • Working Knowledge
    • Strong working knowledge of UK Employment Law, employee relations processes, and complex case management
  • Supporting Talent Management and Change Activities
    • Experience supporting talent management, succession planning, engagement initiatives, and organisational change activities
  • Communication and Influencing Skills
    • Strong communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build credibility and challenge constructively at all levels
  • Qualifications and Skills
    • Ideally CIPD Level 5 qualified or above, with excellent organisational skills and a passion for developing people and driving positive change
