Are you a confident, practical HR generalist looking for a role with real ownership, autonomy, and influence, who is available for a 14-month fixed term contract?
This iconic brand has its manufacturing site in the centre of Northampton and is looking for a Senior HR Advisor (or HRBP) to join them in November.
This is a broad, hands-on generalist position where you will partner directly with managers to deliver people activities across Employee Relations, Recruitment, Training, Engagement, etc.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Offer clear and practical advice to line managers on people challenges in their teams (workforce planning, training needs, performance and conduct issues)
- Partner with the HR Director to deliver the People strategy for the operation, as they modernise and evolve a very traditional industry
- This is a small team of 2 so you'll be doing all your own admin, across the employee lifecycle, from onboarding to offboarding
- Design and deliver a variety of training, culture and engagement activities across different groups of employees, from managers to operatives
- Be the first point of contact for all employees and managers (140 people total) as a visible, approachable and personable HR support to the team

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
