Role Description

The Senior HR Advisor will provide expert guidance and support on a wide range of people-related matters, including employee relations, performance management, and HR policy implementation. This full-time, hybrid role based in Southampton (with infrequent travel to London) involves advising managers on HR best practices, ensuring compliance with relevant employment legislation, and supporting the delivery of firm-wide HR initiatives.

Day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Coaching and supporting leaders on HR processes
  • Contributing to the excellent delivery of HR practice
  • Assisting with onboarding activities

Collaboration with HR colleagues and stakeholders across offices to maintain consistent and high-quality HR services is a key aspect of this role.

Qualifications

  • Strong expertise in Human Resources (HR) and HR Management, with experience in a senior advisory capacity.
  • In-depth knowledge of HR Policies and their practical application within professional services or corporate environments.
  • Solid understanding of Employment Law in the UK, with the ability to interpret and apply legislation to HR matters in a commercial and practical way.
  • Proven experience in Employee Relations, including managing complex issues, investigations, and conflict resolution.
  • Relevant professional HR qualification (e.g., CIPD Level 5 or above) or equivalent experience.
  • Strong communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trust at all levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with discretion, handle confidential information, and make sound, evidence-based decisions.
  • Experience in professional services, legal, or IP-related environments is advantageous but not essential.
  • Proficiency in HR systems and MS Office, with good analytical skills for reporting and data-driven insights.
