Job Title: Senior HR Business Partner (EMEA)
Salary: Up to £140,000 + bonus
Location: London, Onsite (5 days per week)
Hawkwood is partnering with one of the world’s most sophisticated multi-strategy investment firms to hire a Senior People Business Partner for EMEA.
With 5,000+ employees globally and offices across the US, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia, the firm operates across global financial markets, with a high-performing population spanning investment, trading, technology, and corporate functions.
Based in London, this role will have a broad EMEA remit, partnering with teams across London, Tel Aviv, Dubai, and a number of smaller regional offices. The business has continued to grow significantly over recent years and is now looking to further evolve how HR partners with the business.
This role will play an important role in that shift, helping move the Business Partnering function from a more reactive model towards proactive, strategic partnership.
The Opportunity
You will partner closely with senior leaders across EMEA, supporting a broad and evolving client group with significant exposure to the trading side of the business.
The role will cover the full spectrum of business partnering, from org design, workforce planning, talent, and performance through to complex ER and day-to-day people challenges. This isn’t an environment where everything sits neatly within a defined remit. You could be advising a senior leader on the structure of their team one day and managing a sensitive ER matter the next.
We are looking for someone who enjoys that breadth and can operate strategically, while still being comfortable rolling their sleeves up when needed.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to be genuinely close to the business and have the scope to influence how the Business Partnering function develops. The structure is relatively flat, senior stakeholders are accessible, and there is plenty of opportunity to get involved outside of your immediate remit.
We recognise how challenging this current job market is for candidates, and Hawkwood is therefore striving to provide the best candidate experience we can.
