About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and commercially minded Senior HR Business Partner to join our People team, based in the Reading area.
Reporting directly to the Head of People, you will work alongside a collaborative team of HR Business Partners, providing trusted, strategic HR support across a diverse range of operational sites.
This is a highly autonomous, hybrid role offering the flexibility to plan your own diary, balance working from home with time at various sites, and build strong relationships with leaders and employees across the business.
The Role
As Senior HR Business Partner, you will play a key role in shaping and delivering the people strategy, whilst remaining hands-on and confident managing complex employee relations matters.
You Will
- Partner with senior leaders and managers to understand business priorities and translate them into effective people solutions.
- Provide strategic HR advice and challenge, helping leaders make informed people decisions.
- Take ownership of complex employee relations cases, including performance, absence, disciplinary, grievance and organisational change matters.
- Support the delivery of the wider People strategy and key HR initiatives.
- Work closely with the Head of People and wider HRBP team to ensure a consistent and high-quality HR service.
- Coach and develop managers to improve their confidence and capability in people management.
- Use people data and insight to identify trends, risks and opportunities and help shape future people plans.
- Support organisational change, restructures and other strategic people projects.
- Build strong relationships across multiple sites and become a trusted partner to key stakeholders.
- Balance strategic thinking with a practical, solutions-focused approach.

About You
We are looking for an established HR professional who is confident operating at both strategic and operational levels.
You Will Ideally Have
- Proven experience working as a Senior HR Business Partner or experienced HR Business Partner.
- Strong knowledge and experience across employee relations, with the confidence to manage complex and sensitive cases.
- Excellent commercial awareness and the ability to connect people strategy with business objectives.
- Strong influencing, coaching and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience supporting organisational change and delivering HR projects.
- A proactive, pragmatic and collaborative approach.
- The ability to work autonomously, manage your own diary and prioritise effectively across multiple locations.
- Strong communication skills and the confidence to challenge constructively at senior level.
- A strategic mindset with an eye for the bigger picture, whilst being comfortable getting into the detail when required.
- A full driving licence and your own transport, as regular travel between sites will be required.

Location & Working Pattern
This is a hybrid role based around the Reading area, with the flexibility to work from home and plan your diary around business needs.
The role will involve regular travel to sites across Reading, Bath and Wales, so the ability and willingness to travel is essential.
We are looking for someone who enjoys having autonomy over their working week and is comfortable balancing remote working with face-to-face engagement across the business.
