Position Summary
This is a Senior HR Business Partner position and the primary interface between HR and senior business leaders across Alliance Healthcare UK (AH UK). Supporting AH UK Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and ELT-1 leaders, the role is responsible for aligning people strategy with business objectives, ensuring that organisational capability, leadership effectiveness, workforce planning and culture are critical enablers of business success.
Operating within the Cencora HR Operating Model, you will work in close partnership with Centres of Excellence across Talent, Reward, Employee Relations and Shared Services to design and deliver people solutions that support both current and future business needs. The role balances strategic leadership with practical delivery, with a particular focus on organisational transformation, workforce planning, talent and succession, and complex people change programmes.
This is a transformation and project delivery focused Senior HRBP position, not a generalist or day-to-day business partner role. The successful candidate will spend the majority of their time leading and delivering significant people programmes and change initiatives for the AH UK business. This role would suit an autonomous and collaborative business partner, who enjoys owning complex, meaningful work and driving tangibles outcomes at pace.
This role is primarily remote based, however will require travel across AH UK's network including to attend meetings at our Chessington office.
Key Responsibilities
- Leading complex people transformation programmes, including organisation design, restructuring, large-scale workforce change and people exits, ensuring legal compliance and effective stakeholder engagement throughout
- Acting as a trusted strategic advisor to ELT and ELT-1 leaders, providing commercially focused people guidance, constructive challenge, and coaching to strengthen leadership effectiveness and team performance
- Driving talent management and succession planning activity across your client groups, facilitating talent reviews, identifying critical roles, and ensuring development actions land and deliver impact
- Using people data, workforce analytics and business insight to identify risks and opportunities, influence senior decision making, and track the effectiveness of people initiatives
- Developing and delivering integrated people plans that align to business strategy, address capability gaps, and support future organisational requirements
- Working in close partnership with CoEs across Talent, Reward, Recruitment and Shared Services to deliver cohesive, commercially focused people solutions
- Supporting cyclical HR activity including performance cycles, compensation review, and enterprise talent programmes, ensuring consistent and high-quality delivery across your client groups
- Leading HR workstreams associated with acquisitions, integrations, business transfers and TUPE activity where required, translating business strategies into people-focused programmes with sustainable outcomes
- Building communication and engagement plans that support successful change adoption, and coaching leaders to build organisational readiness throughout periods of significant business change

Candidate Requirements
Experience and Education
- Significant prior experience in strategically impactful HR Business Partnering roles
- A proven track record of delivering through complexity, including transformation, organisational design and workforce planning programmes
- Comfortable partnering and influencing at senior and executive level
- Background in highly operational industries such as logistics, distribution, healthcare, manufacturing or retail fit well here
- Strong knowledge of UK employment law and employee relations practice required. Experience supporting unionised employee populations and industrial relations activity would be beneficial
- CIPD or equivalent qualification preferred
- An earlier grounding in sales, recruitment or similarly fast-paced, stakeholder-heavy environments is a real plus
