Senior HR Operations Specialist

London

Our client is a large international organisation seeking an experienced Senior HR Operations Specialist to play a key role in the delivery, governance, and continuous improvement of HR operations.

This position is responsible for overseeing HR operational processes across the employee lifecycle, ensuring high standards of service delivery, data accuracy, compliance, and operational effectiveness. Acting as a senior escalation point, the successful candidate will manage complex employee matters, support HR service excellence, and provide guidance to colleagues across the wider HR function.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee HR operations across the full employee lifecycle, acting as the escalation point for complex cases and ensuring high-quality, compliant service delivery.
  • Maintain ownership of HR systems, data governance, reporting, and analytics, ensuring data integrity, effective controls, and continuous process improvement.
  • Partner with the wider HR team to ensure accurate employee data management, support audits and controls, and resolve complex operational issues.
  • Provide expert guidance on HR policies, procedures, and operational best practice, supporting employees, managers, and HR colleagues while driving consistency across the organisation.
  • Lead and contribute to HR projects, process optimisation initiatives, and business change programmes, whilst providing day-to-day guidance and support to HR Operations team members.

  • Significant experience in HR Operations, Shared Services, or HR Administration, with responsibility for end-to-end employee lifecycle processes and complex operational cases.
  • Strong understanding of HR operations, HR systems, data governance, reporting, and payroll-related processes.
  • Proven ability to analyse data, manage risk, and ensure compliance, with excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience supporting, mentoring, or guiding colleagues, with the ability to influence stakeholders and build effective working relationships.
  • Demonstrated success driving process improvements, operational efficiencies, and service excellence within a fast-paced environment.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel; experience with HRIS platforms and multi-jurisdiction HR operations is advantageous.
  • Relevant HR qualification, or equivalent professional experience, preferred.
