Interim HR Consultant - Reward, Global HR Transformation & Corporate Readiness
Location: Liverpool catchment (Hybrid - limited time on site)
Type: Full time or 4 Days Per Week
Duration: 6-Month assignment

Hays HR is supporting a global engineering and technology-led organisation with operations across a number of countries. As the business continues to evolve and strengthen its international people infrastructure, it is investing in a number of significant HR transformation projects designed to create a consistent, scalable and commercially focused global people framework. The organisation is delivering a multi-year HR roadmap spanning reward, talent, organisational design, HR technology and operational excellence.
Your new role
This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced HR Consultant, Reward Specialist or HR Transformation professional to play a key role in designing and delivering strategic people initiatives across a global business.
Working closely with the Group HR Director, you will take ownership of several high-profile work streams, driving projects from concept through to implementation while partnering with senior stakeholders across multiple countries. This is a hands-on delivery role requiring a blend of reward expertise, project leadership and commercial acumen.
Key projects include
- Global job architecture design and implementation
- International grading and compensation framework integration
- Salary benchmarking, pay modelling and reward analysis
- Development of global pay ranges and reward governance frameworks
- Review of US compensation programmes, including short-term and long-term incentive arrangements
- Harmonisation of reward approaches, employment terms and conditions across multiple countries
- Development and implementation of reward policies, compensation governance and global SOPs
- Critical role identification, retention frameworks and premium pay strategies
- Workday data cleansing, compensation data integrity and job profile alignment
- Global performance management framework design
- HR operating model transformation and organisational effectiveness projects
- Process automation, efficiency and continuous improvement initiatives
- Employee engagement and organisational listening programmes
- Board-ready business cases, strategy papers and executive presentations

What we're looking for
We're seeking a senior HR project professional who has successfully delivered complex global reward or HR transformation programmes within a large international organisation.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:
- Experience leading HR transformation, reward or organisational effectiveness projects
- Strong expertise in job architecture, grading, benchmarking and compensation design
- Experience working within global, matrixed organisations with multi-country operations
- A strong understanding of US reward structures, including short-term incentives, long-term incentive plans and executive reward frameworks
- Experience integrating reward and compensation frameworks across international business units
- Expertise in designing and implementing reward governance, compensation policies and SOPs
- Advanced Excel and HR data analysis capability
- Experience producing board-level papers, recommendations and business cases
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills across international leadership teams

Highly desirable
This role would particularly suit someone who has previously supported a private equity-backed organisation through an IPO, sale, acquisition, carve-out or other corporate transaction. Experience establishing the people, reward and governance infrastructure required to support business growth, investor readiness and corporate change would be highly beneficial.
We are especially interested in individuals who have worked within global engineering, manufacturing, energy, infrastructure, industrial or technology-led businesses and who understand the challenges of creating consistent people frameworks across multiple geographic locations and cultures.
