Senior Recruitment Consultant, Permanent HR

£30,000 to £40,000 plus quarterly commission and annual bonus
Harrogate, hybrid

How would your desk perform if you were given exclusive and retained vacancies, trusted to manage your own time and freed from pointless activity targets?

That is what is available here.

You will take over a busy permanent HR desk with live vacancies, established Yorkshire clients and work already being generated by two senior recruiters.

You will not spend your first six months trying to convince everyone that your supposedly warm desk is warm. The assignments are real and the relationships already exist.

Most roles are permanent HR appointments paying up to £70,000. You can also work on interim, fixed-term and more senior retained assignments.

What you will get

  • Exclusive and retained vacancies from day one.
  • Ownership of your client and candidate relationships.
  • No targets for calls, meetings or CV submissions.
  • No requirement to generate your entire desk through cold BD.
  • Quarterly commission with accelerators.
  • A separate annual bonus with genuine five-figure potential.
  • Support in learning how to win and deliver retained work.
  • Your own LinkedIn Recruiter licence.
  • Hybrid working with two or three days in central Harrogate.
  • 25 days’ holiday plus three additional Christmas closure days.
  • Private medical insurance and a monthly gym allowance after probation.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

If you enjoy business development and networking, you will have the freedom to build your own relationships. If your strength is managing clients, candidates and delivery, there is already enough work to make you successful.

There is no expectation that you arrive and bill immediately. You will be given time to understand the market and relationships, although the existing workload means most experienced consultants begin producing much sooner.

The culture is built around trust. People manage their own days, fit in the occasional gym session, dog walk or appointment, and apply sensible give and take. Nobody is checking whether you have made your thirtieth call.

You will still have support. The senior team remains close to the work, shares opportunities and helps consultants develop. You can progress, increase your earnings and learn retained recruitment without being pushed into managing a team.

Requirements

You will need solid agency recruitment experience and the confidence to run a full recruitment process. Previous HR experience would be useful, but it is not essential.

If you know how to build relationships, deliver good work and manage yourself, the market knowledge can be learned.
