Senior HR Advisor

Location: Wigan (Hybrid – 3 days on site / 2 days from home)
Salary: Up to £45,000 + 7% Bonus + Excellent Benefits

Ashley Kate HR are pleased to be supporting a fantastic global manufacturing business in their search for a Senior HR Advisor to join their established HR team.

About the Role

Reporting to the HR Business Partner, this is a hands-on, operational HR role supporting manufacturing teams within a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. You'll be a visible presence across the site, partnering with managers to drive performance, build management capability, and deliver pragmatic HR support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a broad range of employee relations cases, including disciplinary, grievance, absence, capability, and performance.
  • Coach and influence managers to confidently manage people issues and improve team performance.
  • Build strong relationships across the manufacturing operation, acting as a trusted HR partner.
  • Lead recruitment for production and management-level vacancies.
  • Support performance and talent initiatives, ensuring development plans are implemented and followed through.
  • Support organizational change and HR projects.
  • Ensure compliance with employment legislation, HR policies, Health & Safety, and Food Safety standards.
  • Maintain a visible presence across the factory, proactively identifying issues and driving improvements.

About You

  • Previous experience in an HR Advisor or Senior HR Advisor role within manufacturing, food manufacturing, FMCG, or another fast-paced operational environment.
  • Strong employee relations experience with the confidence to manage complex casework independently.
  • Excellent coaching, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.
  • A proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • CIPD Level 5 qualified (or equivalent experience) is desirable.
