Senior HR Advisor
Salary: £48,396–£55,644 per annum + benefits
Location: Islington, London
Working Arrangement: Hybrid – at least 40% of working time office-based

Overview
Our client, a national non-profit organisation with international connections, is seeking an experienced Senior HR Advisor to join its People & Culture team.
This broad generalist role combines operational HR casework with strategic contribution. You will advise managers and leaders across the full employee lifecycle, manage complex people matters and contribute to HR policy, inclusive recruitment, learning and development, diversity and continuous improvement.
The organisation normally offers a starting salary at the beginning of the advertised range.
Responsibilities
- Manage a varied HR caseload covering employee relations, performance, conduct, sickness absence, recruitment, onboarding and staff welfare.
- Provide practical HR guidance to managers and senior leaders, escalating legal or reputational risks where appropriate.
- Support UK-based international colleagues, including employment arrangements and visa sponsorship processes where required.
- Help develop HR support arrangements for international and multidisciplinary teams.
- Contribute to HR policy development, inclusive recruitment, learning and development, diversity, inclusion and anti-racism initiatives.
- Use HR systems and workforce data to identify trends, highlight risks and make recommendations.
- Improve HR processes, policies and ways of working.
- Coach and influence managers and directors across the organisation.

Requirements
- Strong generalist HR experience.
- Good working knowledge of UK employment law and its practical application.
- CIPD qualification or equivalent professional experience.
- Experience managing complex HR casework and delivering positive outcomes.
- Ability to provide credible HR advice and influence managers and senior leaders.
- Strong critical thinking and collaborative working skills.
- Commitment to diversity, inclusion and anti-racism.
- Ability to work effectively across an internationally connected organisation.
