Senior HR Advisor
Following our continued growth, we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior HR Advisor to join our HR Shared Services team based at our Support Centre in Speke.
Supporting managers across more than 780 stores nationwide, you'll deliver high-quality, practical HR advice across the full colleague lifecycle. Working in a fast-paced environment, you'll provide professional guidance to managers and colleagues, helping to resolve issues early, drive positive people outcomes, and support a positive colleague experience across the business.
You'll act as a key point of contact for line managers and provide support and guidance to more junior members of the team, ensuring a consistent and customer-focused HR service.
This role is based in our Speke office, with hybrid working (4+1) available after six months' service.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Advising, supporting and guiding managers on all aspects of the colleague lifecycle, including employee relations, employment law, contracts, disciplinary, grievance, absence, performance management and policy queries.
- Providing practical, solution-focused HR advice primarily via telephone.
- Acting as a point of escalation and support for more junior HR Advisors in their day-to-day activities.
- Coaching managers to resolve people issues effectively and at the earliest opportunity.
- Drafting correspondence and documentation to support colleague-related processes.
- Managing a varied caseload while balancing multiple priorities and stakeholders.
- Ensuring HR cases and queries are handled fairly, consistently and in line with employment legislation and company policy.
- Contributing to continuous improvement within the HR Shared Services function and helping to promote HR best practice across the business.

Skills & Experience
The skills & experience you'll bring:
- Previous experience in a Senior HR Advisor role, managing a high volume of HR queries and casework.
- Experience working within a commercial environment, with a pragmatic and solution-focused approach.
- Sound knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practice, with the ability to apply this in a practical way.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with confidence in advising and influencing managers at all levels.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced, reactive environment.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills and confidence using HR systems and reporting tools.
- A friendly, supportive and empathetic approach, combined with the confidence to challenge constructively and make balanced, fact-based decisions.
