Salary £40,000 DOE | Full Time | Exeter

Our client is a well-established, customer-focused business based in Exeter. As the HR function continues to grow in line with the wider business, they are looking to appoint a Senior HR Advisor to provide expert guidance on employee relations and to support the ongoing development of HR strategy, policy, and systems.

The Role

This is a great opportunity for an experienced HR professional ready to take on more responsibility. You will support and mentor the HR Advisor and wider HR team, deputising in the absence of the HR and Payroll Supervisor and HR Manager, while managing a varied caseload of employee relations matters. Working closely with managers across the business, you will provide practical, solutions-focused advice and play a key role in shaping HR policy, systems, and wellbeing initiatives.

Responsibilities for the Senior HR Advisor:

  • Mentor and support the HR Advisor and wider HR team, deputising in the absence of the HR and Payroll Supervisor and/or HR Manager
  • Provide expert advice, guidance, and coaching to managers on employee relations casework and the practical impact of employment law
  • Support restructuring and change management initiatives across the business
  • Drive the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures in line with legislation and best practice
  • Support the continued development of HR systems, including management reporting and data analysis
  • Take the lead on varied HR projects, supporting successful delivery of the wider HR strategy

Requirements for the Senior HR Advisor:

  • Proven experience operating at HR Advisor level, ideally within a changing or fast-moving environment
  • Strong knowledge of employee relations case management and current employment law
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the confidence to coach and support colleagues at all levels
  • A high level of computer and HR systems literacy
  • An accurate, organised, and methodical approach, with strong attention to detail
