Senior HR Business Partner

We're looking for a Senior HR Business Partner to support a large-scale operational business across the South of the UK. This is a highly visible role where you'll work directly with leaders and employees, influencing business decisions, driving engagement, and navigating complex people challenges.

This is not a role for someone who prefers to stay behind a desk. You'll spend the majority of your time out in the business, building relationships, coaching managers, supporting organisational change, and ensuring people strategies deliver meaningful results.

This role suits a business partner who enjoys balancing strategic thinking with hands-on delivery, has strong employee relations expertise, and are comfortable operating in a unionised environment.

What You'll Be Doing

As the senior HR lead for your business areas, you will:

  • Partner with operational and senior leaders to drive people performance and business outcomes
  • Manage the full employee lifecycle from recruitment to exit
  • Lead complex employee and industrial relations matters, including disciplinary, grievance and consultation processes
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with recognised trade unions
  • Support organisational change initiatives, restructures and succession planning
  • Provide expert advice on TUPE transfers and people-related risks
  • Coach and develop managers to confidently handle day-to-day people matters
  • Drive employee engagement and retention initiatives
  • Act as a trusted advisor, challenging and influencing stakeholders where appropriate
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement across HR processes and practices

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
