Senior HR Business Partner
West Midlands | Hybrid / Field Based | Permanent
Are you an experienced Senior HR Business Partner who can operate just as confidently with frontline operational teams as you can with Directors and senior leadership?
We’re partnering with a large, customer-focused organisation to recruit a Senior HR Business Partner into a highly visible and influential role.
This is an opportunity for a commercially minded HR leader who understands the realities of fast-paced, geographically dispersed operations, but who can also step back from the day-to-day and shape a broader people agenda.
You’ll work closely with senior leaders to ensure the people strategy directly supports business growth, operational performance, organisational effectiveness and an exceptional customer and colleague experience.
The role
As Senior HR Business Partner, you’ll act as a trusted strategic partner to Directors and senior leaders, providing insight, challenge and practical solutions across a broad and evolving people agenda.
Your remit will include:
- Partnering with senior leaders to shape and deliver people strategies aligned to commercial and operational priorities
- Providing strategic advice across organisational design, leadership capability, workforce effectiveness, culture and change
- Leading workforce planning, succession and talent strategies to build capability for future growth
- Using people data, commercial insight and analytics to identify challenges and influence evidence-based decision making
- Supporting significant organisational transformation and change programmes
- Coaching and challenging senior leaders to strengthen accountability, engagement and performance
- Identifying opportunities to improve organisational structures, processes, ways of working and team effectiveness
- Partnering with specialist HR teams across areas including talent, reward, learning, inclusion, wellbeing and employee relations
- Contributing to the wider HR strategy and driving continuous improvement across the organisation

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

The opportunity
This role would suit someone who enjoys being close enough to the operation to genuinely understand its challenges, while having the strategic capability and credibility to influence at the highest level.
It’s not a purely operational HRBP position, nor is it a role for someone who has become removed from the frontline. The successful individual will be able to bridge both worlds, connecting people priorities directly to growth, productivity, performance and organisational change.
The role is based in the West Midlands with a hybrid and field-based working pattern. Regular UK travel will form part of the position, so flexibility to travel is important.
If you’re a commercially minded Senior HR Business Partner who enjoys complex, fast-moving environments and wants the opportunity to make a genuine impact, we’d love to hear from you.
