As a key member of the People team

As a key member of the People team, you'll partner with senior leaders across the YTL Group to shape and deliver the people strategy in some of our most complex and operationally critical areas.

What you'll do

  • You'll lead transformation activity, supporting operating model changes, culture development and leadership capability, ensuring colleagues are supported, engaged and set up for success through change.
  • As a trusted strategic partner, you'll provide insight, constructive challenge and practical, people‑centred solutions.
  • You'll guide leaders on organisational design, workforce planning, capability development and change management, helping them build strong, inclusive and high‑performing teams across geographically dispersed, technical environments.
  • You'll oversee complex employee relations matters, particularly within safety‑critical and unionised teams, ensuring outcomes are fair, consistent and legally compliant. Working closely with the wider People function, you'll help deliver initiatives that enhance performance, boost colleague experience and strengthen organisational capability.
  • You'll act as a role model and coach, lifting capability across the People team and helping others grow their skills and impact.
  • You'll also champion the effective use of technology, data and AI to improve decision‑making, efficiency and the overall People service.
  • This role is critical to enabling transformation across our operational and engineering functions, while supporting Group‑wide initiatives across YTL UK. You'll bring thought leadership, commercial acumen and a calm, credible presence that helps leaders navigate complexity with confidence.

What you'll need

  • Significant experience as a senior HR Business Partner in complex operational or engineering‑led environments, including Trade Union experience.
  • A strong track record in leading organisational transformation and supporting senior leaders through change.
  • Confidence influencing and advising Executive and senior operational leaders, with sound judgement and commercial insight.
  • Experience managing complex ER matters, particularly within unionised settings.
  • Exceptional communication skills and emotional intelligence, with the ability to build trust quickly and work collaboratively.
  • A proactive, analytical and people‑centred approach, using data and insight to inform decisions.
  • Broad generalist HR expertise and the ability to engage specialist input when required.
  • Curiosity about emerging HR practice, technology and AI, and the ability to apply these in a practical, value‑adding way.
