Senior IAM Engineer
Salary - £95-110k + Bonus + Benefits
Location - Fully Remote (from within the UK or EU)
Brand new role with a major UK brand, building a completely greenfield Platform Engineering function, looking for a Senior IAM Engineer to help shape how identity and access is built across a growing ecosystem of internal systems, partner integrations and customer-facing platforms.
First and foremost, they need a genuine Senior level IAM Engineer with 5+ years' hands-on experience, and a strong foundation in cloud security engineering within AWS; someone who has built and operated IAM and authentication capabilities through infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD pipelines and policy-as-code, not just administered them.
The role sits within Platform Engineering, but naturally operates hand in hand with Security, giving you the autonomy to build authentication, entitlement and access capabilities as proper engineering products rather than administrative processes, while staying closely aligned with the organisation's wider security priorities. It's a genuinely rare opportunity to shape identity and access from within a platform team, with strong backing from engineering leadership to introduce new tooling and ways of working.

Key Responsibilities
- Design, build and operate identity and access management capabilities as core platform services, deploying through infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD pipelines.
- Develop and automate IAM policy and governance through policy-as-code, covering identity standards, entitlements and access workflows.
- Partner closely with the Security team to ensure authentication, entitlement and access controls meet the organisation's wider security and compliance requirements.
- Work with engineering teams across the business to embed IAM into everyday development and deployment practices, rather than bolting it on afterwards.

Key Requirements
- 5+ years' experience in a hands-on technical engineering role, with genuine depth in Identity & Access Management.
- Strong cloud security engineering experience within AWS, including infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD pipelines and policy-as-code.
- Practical, hands-on experience building and operating IAM and authentication capabilities, not just administering off-the-shelf tools.
- Comfortable operating as part of a Platform Engineering team, partnering closely with Security rather than sitting within it.
- Familiarity with modern IAM concepts and tooling (federation, entitlements, access governance) within cloud-native environments.
