Senior IBA Associate

Salary: Circa £45,000 DOE
Location: London
Hybrid: 3 days in the office / 2 days from home
Hours: 9am-5pm (Flexible)

An opportunity has arisen for an IBA Associate to join a leading global insurance broker within its specialist Transportation IBA team.

This role would suit someone with 3+ years’ experience in IBA, insurance accounts, credit control, or client money who is looking for a position offering responsibility, variety, and the opportunity to develop within the insurance market.

The Role

You’ll be responsible for managing client money across a portfolio of transportation insurance accounts, working closely with brokers, clients, and internal teams.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Chasing clients for outstanding funds and managing credit control
  • Receiving and accurately allocating client money
  • Processing payments, including PBWs, notes, and cancellations
  • Reconciling accounts and investigating discrepancies
  • Working closely with brokers and underwriting teams to resolve payment queries
  • Identifying and communicating urgent or time-sensitive payments
  • Managing queries through to resolution and escalating where required
  • Working with clients, insurers, and internal stakeholders, many of whom are based overseas
  • Maintaining accurate records and ensuring relevant procedures and requirements are followed

About you

  • Previous experience within insurance, ideally IBA, insurance accounts, credit control, or client money
  • Around 2-3+ years’ relevant experience, although candidates with strong experience in a similar role will be considered
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and a practical, common-sense approach
  • Confidence communicating with brokers and other stakeholders to resolve queries
  • Good organisation and time-management skills
  • A collaborative approach and the ability to fit into a close-knit team
  • Good Microsoft Office skills

Experience within transportation insurance and/or Brokasure would be advantageous, but is not essential.

This is a hands-on IBA role covering a broad range of transportation accounts, offering the opportunity to work closely with brokers and gain further experience across client money, payments, and insurance accounts.
