About Xiatech

Xiatech is the pioneer of Xfuze - the world's first AI-powered composable Integration, Data Management, Analytics and Orchestration Platform. Xfuze innovatively connects systems, creates a single view of data, and delivers actionable insights in one cloud-native SaaS solution. Business, technology, and data teams use Xfuze to shorten time-to-insights, accelerate digital transformation, and extend the value of their existing technology investments.

We're a culture-first organisation. We believe a great working environment leads to a high-performing, motivated team - which is why we offer our people the flexibility to work remotely or from our office in Fitzrovia, Central London.

1. Role Summary

The Senior Implementation Consultant is our highest-level, client-facing delivery position at Xiatech. This is a highly consultative role rather than a project coordination or backlog management function. It requires an experienced specialist to own the intersection of strategic advisory, platform mastery, and commercial delivery governance—and successfully execute it at scale.

You will operate between the Client Partner - who owns the long-term relationship and the Implementation Engineers who configure the platform. Everything in between is yours: scope definition with the technical lead, delivery flow, commercial governance, and client expectation.

In practice, this means orchestrating every party across the engagement - assigning pipeline ownership to Implementation Engineers, running context handoff sessions to ensure nothing is lost between phases, managing the transition from pre-implementation engagement through to active build, and escalating promptly when an engineer is blocked rather than waiting for it to surface.

2. What Makes This Role Different

While many SaaS implementation roles lean heavily into project management, this position offers a much broader strategic scope. Three key factors set it apart:

Commercial ownership: In this role, you'll have true commercial ownership, directly managing a real budget through our Expert Services allowance and shaping project scope by pricing and raising Change Requests. This is a core, high-impact pillar of the daily responsibilities. Prior commercial accountability is key to hitting the ground running here.

Adopt, Don't Adapt: Our platform is robust and fully built. Your role is to act as a strategic partner, configuring the solution to solve complex client problems rather than simply passing custom requirements to our engineering team. As a trusted advisor, you will naturally challenge existing business processes, guide clients toward industry best practices, and lead change management when a workflow adjustment delivers a better outcome than a platform customisation.

The MATCH framework: Rather than following generic Agile methodologies, we drive every engagement through our proprietary MATCH delivery framework: Mobilisation, Architecture, Technical Spec, Construct, and Handover. Each phase is backed by defined gates, artefacts, and governance, granting you complete end-to-end ownership of the delivery lifecycle.

3. Key Responsibilities

3a. Strategic Advising - Trusted Advisor to the Client

  • Act as the senior client-facing point of contact across all delivery, functional, and scope matters throughout the engagement lifecycle.
  • Challenge client business processes rather than acting as a passive order-taker. When faced with a bespoke request, your mandate is to push back and pivot the conversation: you will require the client to demonstrate the underlying business problem rather than simply accepting the solution they think they need.
  • Apply the 'Adopt, Don't Adapt' principle by consistently mapping client requirements to standard Xfuze platform features as the primary approach. Custom development should be treated as an exception-escalated only when a genuine platform gap is proven and thoroughly justified from a commercial perspective, rather than as a default convenience.
  • Build trusted advisor credibility by proactively surfacing risks, trade-offs, and alternatives before clients raise them.
  • Lead executive stakeholder and steering committee sessions with strong commanding presence. You will confidently advise senior client leadership, constructively challenge assumptions, and deliver complex or difficult messages while protecting and strengthening key relationships.
  • Collaborate closely with the Client Partner to proactively identify account expansion opportunities and recognise upsell signals. You will play a vital role in commercial growth, with equal accountability for scope protection and strategic scope expansion.
  • Mentor and provide quality assurance for the Junior Implementation Consultants across the practice, championing high delivery standards and supporting their professional growth.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

3b. MATCH Delivery Governance

The Senior Implementation Consultant owns delivery execution across all five phases of the MATCH framework:

Mobilisation:

  • Lead client kickoff workshops.
  • Define and lock the fixed scope.
  • Own the Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM).
  • Agree the extensibility credit budget upfront and get it signed off before build begins.

Architecture:

  • Partner with Solution Architects to validate that client business problems map to standard platform features.
  • Flag and escalate any architecture decisions that create future extensibility risk.

Technical Spec:

  • Ensure specs are configuration-first.
  • Challenge any spec that defaults to custom code without first exhausting platform-native options.
  • Sign off the final technical spec before build begins.

Construct:

  • Maintain operational oversight of the team's Kanban delivery flow.
  • You will ensure optimal cycle times by tracking WIP limits, establishing clear escalation paths for items stalled 'In Progress' beyond three days, and championing a frictionless developer experience by eliminating ambiguity without adding process friction.

Handover:

  • Secure formal client sign-off on all deliverables.
  • You will oversee a seamless transition to operations with the delivery team by ensuring the Service Desk formally accepts the release into live support prior to engagement closure.

3c. Commercial & Scope Management

  • Own the expert services budget across every engagement - track spend, flag overrun risk early, and initiate commercial change requests when credits are exhausted.
  • Translate scope modifications into formal Change Requests, ensuring a comprehensive commercial impact assessment is completed before any development begins. You will uphold a strict 'documentation first' standard, ensuring no modifications are initiated or verbally agreed upon without formal tracking.
  • Accurately report project health across the Commercial, Delivery, and Engagement pillars-ensuring absolute transparency when an engagement risks going off-track. We prize objective visibility over superficial metrics, expecting you to flag risks and issues early and honestly rather than hiding delivery challenges.
  • Monitor margin in partnership with the Client Partner and flag any erosion caused by unplanned work or scope drift as early as possible.
  • Own commercial closeout - final reconciliation of scope delivered against what was contracted and formal release into live support.
  • Contribute to pricing and scoping of new engagements, drawing on delivery experience to pressure-test estimates before they go to contract.

4. Required Skills & Experience

Essential

  • 5+ years in enterprise SaaS or integration platform delivery - with at least 2 in a senior, client-facing consulting or implementation role.
  • Proven ability to push back on senior client stakeholders with evidence and a counter-proposal, not just resistance.
  • Commercial fluency: Ability to analyze a Statement of Work, proactively identify potential scope creep, and independently initiate Change Request conversations before issues escalate.
  • Direct experience managing delivery using Lean/Kanban - comfortable with WIP limits, cycle time analysis, and flow-based reporting.
  • Track record of owning formal client acceptance processes end-to-end (UAT, sign-off, go-live, handover) not just supporting them.
  • Strong written and verbal communication - equally credible in a client boardroom and a Slack thread with engineers.
  • Experience contributing to pre-sales scoping, estimation, or commercial proposals.

Desirable

  • Background in a company that transitioned from bespoke development to product/platform-led delivery - you understand both sides of that shift.
  • Familiarity with requirements traceability (RTM) and fixed-scope contracting models.
  • Exposure to data integration, middleware, or workflow automation platforms - Xfuze experience not required, but platform implementation instincts are essential.
  • Experience with retail or digital transformation programmes (ERP, EPOS, CDP, or BI/dashboard implementations).
  • Experience line-managing, coaching, or formally mentoring junior delivery professionals.

Your Personality

  • Energetic & driven
  • Innovative
  • Resilient
  • Insightful
  • Creative
  • Problem solver
  • Sound judgement
  • Analytical
  • Capacity to learn
