Senior IT Recruitment Consultant - London
We are looking for an experienced IT Recruitment Consultant in London to join our partner company - WPR Group.
About WPR
WPR is a specialist recruitment consultancy, part of IDEX Consulting, focused on Transformation, Technology, Data and Operations hiring. We work primarily across the Lloyd's and London insurance market, on both permanent and contract terms, and have been recognised with Recruiter of the Year at the National Insurance Awards in 2024 and 2025. Our consultants build long term relationships with clients and candidates, combining sector insight with genuine technical fluency.
The Role
We are looking for an experienced, billing-focused IT Recruitment Consultant to join our growing team. This is a genuine 360 desk, covering both permanent and contract placements. You will own the full recruitment lifecycle: business development, client management, candidate sourcing, qualification and offer management.
Insurance or Financial Services experience is not required. What matters far more is a deep, current understanding of the technology recruitment landscape: the roles, the skill sets, the market rates and the candidate pools across areas such as Engineering, Development, Architecture and IT Operations. We will support you in learning our sector; we need you to bring the technical recruitment expertise.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage a 360 desk across permanent and contract vacancies, from initial business development through to offer and placement
- Build and grow a network of clients through proactive business development, referrals and account management. You will be able to access every client that WPR already works with.
- Take detailed, accurate job briefs and translate them into effective search and sourcing strategies
- Source, screen and qualify candidates against technical and cultural requirements, using job boards, LinkedIn, referrals and your own network
- Manage the full candidate journey: interview coordination, feedback, offer negotiation and post placement care
- Negotiate terms of business, fees and contract rates with new and existing clients
- Maintain accurate records within the CRM, keeping pipeline and billing forecasts up to date
- Stay close to market trends across the technology recruitment space, sharing insight with clients and candidates alike
- Meet and exceed individual billing targets, contributing to the wider growth of the desk and team
What We Are Looking For
- Previous experience in a full, billing 360 recruitment role.
- A proven, consistent billing history, with evidence of sustained performance over multiple years.
- Deep knowledge of the technology recruitment market: an ability to speak knowledgeably about different technology roles, skill sets, seniority levels and market rates, across both permanent and contract hiring.
- Strong business development skills, with a track record of winning and growing client relationships.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship management skills.
- A resilient, organised and self-motivated approach, with the ability to manage a varied desk independently.
- Insurance or Financial Services sector experience is not required and will not be prioritised over strong tech recruitment credentials.
