Position Description
At CGI, you’ll shape the infrastructure foundations behind complex client solutions, turning business needs into secure, scalable and high-performing architectures. As a Senior Infrastructure Architect, you’ll take ownership of infrastructure decisions across bids, deals and projects, connecting solution architecture with practical implementation and ensuring technology delivers measurable value. You’ll have the freedom to evaluate emerging technologies, challenge assumptions and create innovative approaches while balancing performance, cost and risk. Working alongside solution architects, project teams, specialists and clients, you’ll be supported by CGI’s collaborative community while using your expertise to influence decisions, mentor colleagues and ensure infrastructure solutions remain aligned with both immediate delivery requirements and longer-term business goals.
CGI was recognised in the Sunday Times Best Places to Work List 2025 and has been named a UK ‘Best Employer’ by the Financial Times. We offer a competitive salary, excellent pension, private healthcare, plus a share scheme (3.5% + 3.5% matching) which makes you a CGI Partner not just an employee. We are committed to inclusivity, building a genuinely diverse community of tech talent and inspiring everyone to pursue careers in our sector, including our Armed Forces, and are proud to hold a Gold Award in recognition of our support of the Armed Forces Corporate Covenant. Join us and you’ll be part of an open, friendly community of experts. We’ll train and support you in taking your career wherever you want it to go.
Due to the secure nature of the programme, you will need to hold UK Security Clearance or be eligible to go through this clearance. This is a hybrid position.
Your future duties and responsibilities
In this role, you will take ownership of defining, validating and communicating infrastructure architectures across bids, deals and projects. You’ll bridge the gap between solution architecture, technical delivery, business stakeholders and project management, translating requirements into logical infrastructure models, detailed component specifications and implementable designs.
You’ll act as a focal point for infrastructure teams, bringing together technical expertise from across CGI and our partners to create solutions that balance business outcomes, technical quality, cost and risk. You’ll have the opportunity to explore emerging technologies and challenge established approaches, while collaborating with experienced specialists who will support successful delivery. You’ll also share your expertise through mentoring and knowledge transfer, helping strengthen architectural capability across the team.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
