Job title: Senior Infrastructure Architect

Client: Banking

Salary: £140,000-£180,000 + Bonus

Location: London

The role:

My client, an established international in the Banking sector are seeking a very senior (Director / Exec Director level) Infrastructure Architect to join them to work across a broad range of projects, at an enterprise level.

Responsibilities:

  • Consolidating large scale datacentre architecture onto a new platform
  • Owning key aspects of datacentre exit
  • Design of new co-located Infrastructure
  • Leading datacentre rationalisation projects
  • Defining architectural plans for VDI, Colo, Datacentres Cloud
  • Consolidating the VDI and EUC estate
  • Designing landing zones, network topology, identity and hybrid connectivity
  • Establishing Infrastructure standards
  • Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity design
  • Building and maintaining an Infrastructure cost model
  • Acting as the TDA

Skills and experience required:

  • Extensive Infrastructure Architecture experience in a large, regulated enterprise
  • Previous experience delivering an E2E Datacentre consolidation, migration or exit
  • Experience in owning a VDI / EUC estate, including a migration or consolidation project
  • Architectural experience within AWS, Azure or GCP, including landing zones, networking, identity and migration
  • Able to carry out dependency analysis, including discovery for legacy or undocumented systems
  • VDI/EUC: Citrix, AVD, Horizon, 365, Layering, Sizing, Profiles
  • Datacentre: Virtualisation, Storage, Hyper/Converged Infrastructure, Colocation, Hosting, Capacity
  • Cloud: Azure / AWS Landing Zones, Hybrid Connectivity, Migration
  • Networks: Datacentre Fabric, Segmentation, Load Balancing, WAN/SD-WAN/DNS, Firewalls
  • Automation: Terraform, Ansible, IaC, Configuration
  • Resilience: DR, Backups, BCP

Desirable:

  • Financial Services experience – market-data or low-latency systems
  • Migration of legacy hardware / software – e.g. Mainframe
  • FinOps and Cost Governance

Personal:

  • Ability to influence technical direction and delivery, working across multiple teams
  • Delivery focused with a passion for efficiency and DevEx
  • Collaborative leader, able to drive technical change and resulting organisational change
