Position Description

At CGI, you’ll deliver resilient infrastructure solutions that underpin business-critical services for clients across a range of sectors. As a Senior Infrastructure Consultant, you’ll take ownership of complex technical implementations, using your Windows, VMware and automation expertise to turn project requirements into reliable, high-quality outcomes. You’ll have the freedom to identify smarter ways of working, improve services and help shape technical delivery, while being supported by an experienced community of infrastructure specialists. From delivering large-scale changes to mentoring colleagues and transitioning solutions into operational support, you’ll combine hands-on expertise, collaboration and creative problem-solving to make a tangible difference for our clients.

CGI was recognised in the Sunday Times Best Places to Work List 2025 and has been named a UK ‘Best Employer’ by the Financial Times. We offer a competitive salary, excellent pension, private healthcare, plus a share scheme (3.5% + 3.5% matching) which makes you a CGI Partner not just an employee. We are committed to inclusivity, building a genuinely diverse community of tech talent and inspiring everyone to pursue careers in our sector, including our Armed Forces, and are proud to hold a Gold Award in recognition of our support of the Armed Forces Corporate Covenant. Join us and you’ll be part of an open, friendly community of experts. We’ll train and support you in taking your career wherever you want it to go.

Due to the secure nature of the programme, you will need to hold UK Security Clearance to SC level on joining. This is a hybrid position.

Your future duties and responsibilities

In this role, you will take ownership of delivering and transitioning Windows infrastructure solutions across CGI and third-party environments. You’ll work across complex, business-critical projects, implementing infrastructure changes, producing detailed technical documentation and ensuring solutions are delivered effectively before being transitioned smoothly into operational support.

You’ll work autonomously while collaborating with customers, suppliers, technical teams and other specialists to achieve successful outcomes. You’ll also have opportunities to lead others, mentor colleagues and share your expertise, while being supported by CGI’s wider technical community. Bringing new ideas to automation and continuous improvement will be encouraged as you help make infrastructure delivery more efficient, consistent and resilient.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
